Styling your Dining Room for Christmas

When it comes to Christmas, there’s one room you can guarantee will be the focal point of the festivities, the dining room of course.

The dining room is where most of the magic will happen over the holidays and whilst all you need is good company and good food to enjoy the occasion, to add the finishing touches to your home – a little bit of decoration can go a long way.

Once you’ve established a theme or a palette of colours to work with, decorating becomes much simpler, we chose an elegant look of creams and whites with golden accents to contrast the dark green and earthy Christmas tones.

To avoid your table looking too cluttered, spacing is vital. You can save some space around the table like we did by stacking dinner plates on top of these gorgeous Aram Serving Plates. Ensure your design is cohesive by matching cutlery and accessories for example, the Deco Twist Napkin Jewels in gold add the final special touches to the table arrangement. Console tables could be used for welcome drinks with an elegant tray containing the glasses, a gold champagne bucket and some festive décor too.

If you want to create that extra special feeling in your dining area why not set up a small sized tree near the dining table? Enhance the ultimate holiday-home look by bringing some gifts into the dining space. As a DIY alternative you can wrap empty boxes of assorted sizes in your chosen colour paper and neatly decorated with a bow to really make the tree pop. To create a festive vibe, use real dried foliage and flowers to support the wintery feel but keep colours neutral and dark so they are not overwhelming.

Create a luxury centrepiece

If you’re keen to create a simple look for the centre of your table, a decorative bowl or luxury candle is simple but so effective.

For intimate dining settings, it’s important that you’ll be able to interact with guests around the table, so you might want to opt for a centrepiece that isn’t too tall. We decided to finish off our centrepiece by surrounding the gold bowl with a stunning seasonal wreath.

If you are looking to renovate your dining space and looking for new furniture then consider a round table as they are inclusive and conversation will always flow. A white marble or ceramic table top is easy to clean and allows crockery sets and table décor to steal the show.

The Cromwell Dining table, fashioned from smoked nickel with a beautifully crafted ceramic top is incredibly stylish and easy to maintain. Paired with our Paris dining chairs, their curved back provides ample support to relax into without compromising its elegant form. The dining chairs are upholstered in a luxurious Andrew Martin fabric and the contrast jacquard fabric on the back of the chair adds a stunning aesthetic to any interior.
